Cam-Trac Depends on Inuktun

It's been 16 years since Mark Maurier bought his first piece of equipment from Inuktun Services Ltd., and the owner of Cam-Trac Inspection Services Ltd. has been a loyal customer ever since.

The company, which specializes in hydro-excavation, power flushing and video inspections of underground piping, bought a set of Minitracs from Inuktun in 1992 for camera inspections. "We've grown from there," said Maurier. "Since then, we've bought several pieces of equipment. We've definitely been satisfied with the product."

Cam-Trac owns a Versatrax 150, a modular, long-range internal pipe inspection system and a Versatrax 100, another of Inuktun's modular inspection systems, as well as the Crystal Cam Push System.

As most of Cam-Trac's contracts involve water and sewer pipes, the Versatrax 150 has helped the company serve their clients. "The tracks have been really durable to go the distances required," said Maurier. "Some of the other systems won't go as far."

Many companies use systems that pull through a pipe with rope skids, which won't work if there is only one entrance to a pipeline.

"The track system will work with only one entrance," said Maurier. "We've always been able to go to the distance to reach the end of the line."
