Inuktun and Hydropulsion Get Down and Dirty

Brian Storie, president of Scotland's Hydropulsion, is getting down and dirty with Inuktun products. When you're in the business of supplying oil well jetting equipment and oil well and industrial tractors, that's a good thing.

Storie started Hydropulsion three years ago supplying downhole tools before he came across MS Industrial Services, major provider of cleaning, coatings and inspection services based in Invergordon, Scotland. Storie worked as a consultant for MSIS, and together they toured the world solving problems in tight spaces with Inuktun products. Last September, MSIS travelled to Cyrpus to help Israel's DPAP Engineering inspect an intake pipe filled with seawater.

"A two-man crew and the Versatrax 150 system was flown from the UK to Cyprus," said Jim MacAskill Operations Director for MSIS. "There was an urgency to the inspection and it was a long distance inspection with a seven-metre drop from ground level to the pipeline access point."

Using Inuktun's Versatrax 150, the urgent assignment was successful to the glee of DPAP.

In February, MSIS and Hydropulsion teamed up to inspect a system designed to discharge radioactive effluent, for Dounreay Site Remediation Ltd who will ultimately disclose their findings to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, for decommission of the pipe structure.

After finding Inuktun products more than 18 months ago, Storie has become one of the company's biggest fans and will soon distribute Inuktun products exclusively throughout Europe.

"Inuktun forms a critical area in the Hydropulsion range," he said. "A unique range of products for many varied applications. Compared to other manufacturers Inuktun products are more technically advanced and Inuktun provides excellent customer support."

Storie cites versatility, modular design and longer distance inspection ability as attributes that put Inuktun far ahead of the competition.

Inuktun president Colin Dobell said he is looking forward to working with Storie and supplying Europe with Inuktun products.

"Brian has been instrumental in getting CE certification on most of our products," said Dobell. "He has dedicated himself to understanding the operational and technical aspects of all of our systems, and his experience in industry (oil and gas, nuclear) gives him the tools to rapidly expand our sales and support systems in all of Europe."

Along with MSIS, Hydropulsion also serves clients such as Baker Hughes, UK Atomic Energy Authority, Magnox South Ltd, Weatherford International and Smith International.

Storie said now is an exciting time to develop relationships with Inuktun and developing Inuktun's market within the UK and Europe, especially with new Inuktun products like the Mini Crystal Push Cam, Diver Cam and HD Camera.
